Perry Bacon, Jr. Inside Political Reporting in the Era of Tribalism, Trump & Twitter

Up first will be journalist Perry Bacon, Jr. NBC News Senior Political Reporter, who has been an eyewitness to and reporter of the dynamic events in American politics since 2002. “Inside Political Reporting in the Era of Tribalism, Trump, & Twitter.” He will share his fascinating insights from his unique vantage point as a political observer of American politics and history with Congressman John Yarmuth, a friend since Perry’s days as a kid dreaming big.

Lifestyle expert and Louisville native Elizabeth Mayhew has taken her career from growing up in Louisville to the national spotlight, where she is a contributing editor for NBC’s Today and a popular monthly columnist for the Washington Post, and Brand Editor of Reese Witherspoon’s southern-inspired brand Draper James.

An Evening with Louisville’s Own Global Game Changers

How often do we hear, what is wrong with kids today? Perhaps we should change the conversation to what is right with kids today, and how we can help them harness their talent and strengths to change the world?

Louisville’s own Global Game Changers, a local nonprofit is doing just that as they seek to empower all children to discover their inner superpower and make the world a better place through unique educational programs and partnerships.

Jan Helson, well-known business owner and philanthropist and daughter actress Rachel Annette Helson have partnered with family members Anne and Justin Walker. Together they are expanding GGC using their equation: MY TALENT + MY HEART = MY SUPERPOWER™ to change the trajectory of youth in Louisville area to be more emotionally intelligent and socially equipped to become change-makers in our own community (globalgamechangers.org).

Don’t miss this opportunity to join us in a conversation with the founders of GGC, hosted by Sam Corbett, Executive Director of Future Up, Advancing Louisville’s Public Schools (formerly the Jefferson County Public Education Foundation).  

2016 Speaker Series Calendar of Events

First up will be three outstanding sisters whose careers have taken them down paths from women’s health to civil rights to beauty. Talk about girl power!

Our summer presentation will showcase three powerful men—Dan Roth, Executive Editor of LinkedIn; Evan Roth, a financial powerhouse; and Junior Bridgeman, an entrepreneurial superstar and former pro-ball player–in a rare live-audience podcast!

In the fall, we round out the year with Jon Carloftis, a landscape designer whose celebrated reputation as a pioneer in the field exceeds not only Kentucky’s boundaries, but the nation’s as well.

All events include a one-hour reception with our guests followed by a program. Tickets are $25 and include appetizers from Wiltshire Pantry, water and soft drinks.There is also a cash bar.
