Born in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1993, Tiller’s early life was marked by tragedy. At just four years old, his mother suddenly passed, away leaving Tiller to live with his grandmother. While he was a student at Iroquois High School, he began singing and rapping with his cousins and his friends. After high school, he kept developing as a musician even as he became a father and had to work at Papa John’s to make ends meet.

In 2014, he recorded and posted the track “Don’t” to his SoundCloud. The song would generate  a lot of attention both inside the music industry and on the radio, becoming number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Because the track was heard by industry juggernauts like Drake and Rihanna, Tiller received a deal with RCA Records

In 2015, his first studio album with his new record label Trapsoul made its way to number 8 on the Billboard 200. The second single off the album “Exchange” earned him his first Grammy nomination. Just one year later, Tiller received two BET Awards for Best New Artist and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. Because of his meteoric rise to the top of pop and rap music, Louisville  awarded Tiller in 2016 with a ceremonial key to the city and designated March12th as Bryson Tiller Day.(what year)

In February 2021, he released the album Anniversary, a nod to the ten-year anniversary of his first mix-tape. Drake and Big Sean feature prominently on the album, which has already achieved success on the charts.
