KELTIE FERRIS
Best known for his abstract patterned paintings
Coming from a long line of professional painters on his father’s side of the family, Keltie Ferris has built a successful career as an abstract artist. Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, his family made a point to introduce him to modern and post-war masters like Pablo Picasso and Fernand Leger. With both a bachelor’s degree and an MFA from Yale, he now creates large-scale abstract paintings that incorporate different media and modalities to create an almost uncanny effect.
For his work, Keltie Ferris won the Rosenthal Family Foundation Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2014. Since then, he has shown his work in Mitchell-Innes & Nash Gallery, the Saatchi Gallery, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art.
