TONY MOORE

Tony Moore was “raised by a wild pack of televisions” in the small town of Cynthiana, Ky. Moore spent his formative on his grandfather’s tobacco farm dreaming of little else than growing up to be a comic book artist. His mother never stifled his passions or fussed over his interests in darker media, allowing him to soak up the wealth of influences that still inform his work to this day. The freedom to explore the world in his imagination coupled with the tenacity he learned from the hard-working farmers around him set Tony Moore up for achieving that dream. 

Moore nearly completed his BFA in Drawing at the University of Louisville but abandoned his studies after 6 years to pursue a career illustrating comics. Most known for his work on The Walking Dead, Moore also co-created the books The Exterminators and Fear Agent, and has since lent his hand to bombastic runs on Marvel’s Ghost Rider, Punisher, Venom, and Deadpool, and has drawn covers for countless others. He has been twice nominated for the comics industry’s prestigious Eisner Award. Of all the honors he has received throughout his sterling career, perhaps the most precious of all was being commissioned by Governor Steve Beshear as a Kentucky Colonel, following in the footsteps of his grandfather. Though his work has carried him around the world, he prefers to spend his days quietly on his farm in Cynthiana with his wife, daughter, and dogs.
