CHUCK BRYMER

October 24, 2018 – Kentucky to the World got inside the head of the man whose job it is to get inside yours when Chuck Brymer had a conversation with Maggie Harlow.

Chuck Brymer is Chairman of DDB Communications Group, one of the top advertising and marketing agencies in the world. At DDB, he oversees the operations of the network’s more than 200 offices in over 90 countries.

Since joining DDB in 2006 as President and CEO, the company has expanded significantly in size and reputation, voted one of the top agencies in the world by AdAge, Adweek and Campaign and winning more Grand Prix Lions at the Cannes Advertising Festival than any other communications company.

As part of his growth agenda, Chuck led the acquisition of leading businesses in Brazil, India, and the UK, and has overseen the transformation of DDB from a traditional advertising network to a communications company with a digital focus. His clients include VW, McDonald’s, Samsung, J&J, Audi, Unilever, Miller Coors, and Pepsi.

Chuck grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated from Central High School and the University of Kentucky. Although he has lived and traveled around the world, he credits his Kentucky roots and upbringing with his edge in business.

One of the world’s leading brand experts, Chuck is also an author whose book, The Nature of Marketing (Palgrave Macmillan) is a guide to engaging online consumer populations. In partnership with The Economist, Chuck also co-authored the book, Brands and Branding.

He is the former global Chairman and CEO of the Interbrand Group, the world’s largest branding and design consultancy. Prior to joining Interbrand, Chuck started his career at BBDO.

Since 2007, Chuck has served on the Board of Directors of Regal Entertainment, and has been a board director of the US Chamber of Commerce since 2012.
